About Us

Titan Specialty Doors has been exceeding the demands of our customers in the government, aerospace, entertainment and energy sectors for decades.  To better serve your needs, each project is assigned a "Project Specialist" who is well versed in all aspects of project management and engineering. Our team is dedicated to working with you on every step of the project from the first sketches and ideas to the final nut and bolt.

In addition to our own in-house fabrication capabilities, our roster of quality vendors across the country ensures that we can provide our products to you as quickly and efficiently as possible while reducing shipping costs and potential delays. Each has been specially chosen for its quality fabrication, service, and attention to detail.

Our work does not end when the project ends but continues with extensive product training and optional preventative maintenance programs specific to your door's function to keep them running in perfect order for years to come. In addition, should you have other doors that have stopped working or are not functioning as you need them to, we also specialize in door refurbishment and repair.

Though our name may be new, the principles of Titan Specialty Doors are well recognized in the industry from working on some of the most sophisticated door installations worldwide. These projects include some of the largest ever designed, manufactured, and installed. Contact us today to find out how we can put that experience to work for you.

Fred Bolio

President and Owner,

Titan Specialty Doors

Fred has been working in the specialty door industry for over 20 years - first as the President of Tecknit Shielding Systems/Specialty Doors then as the President and managing partner of GPS Specialty Doors, and now as the founder and President of Titan Specialty Doors.

Fred began his specialty door career when he became the President of Tecknit Specialty Doors in 1996.  During this time Fred was introduced to, and had the great honor of working with, Mr. Paul W. Hillseth, known throughout the industry as PWH.  Mr. Hillseth began installing hangar doors during World War II, and went on to create one of the greatest door companies in history.  PWH was a special sales consultant to Tecknit, and even though an octogenarian, shared his wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm for the industry with Fred.

During his career, Fred has been the lead designer, project administrator, project manager, and installer on numerous projects within the military/government, aerospace, entertainment and energy sectors.  Fred’s list of projects includes radiation shielded doors for the National Ignition Facility, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory; jet engine test cell doors for GE and Pratt & Whitney; RF/EMI shielded doors for the Lockheed Martin (Presidential Helicopter, GPS III Antenna Range, GPS III PIM Chamber, KoP Chamber, Space Systems Newtown to Waterton relocation), the US Air Force (Edwards AFB Benefield Anechoic Chamber), the US Army (Aberdeen) and the US Navy (North Island); concrete elephant doors for NBCUniversal, Steiner Studios, Dubai Studio City, Manhattan Beach Studios, Celtic Studios, New England Studios; custom blast doors for the US military (multiple projects), Lockheed Martin (Orion Space Program), Boeing (CST-100 Starliner capsule); and many standard and special function hangar doors for military and industry use.

Roland has over 20 years of experience in the specialty door and shielding industries. He has worked as a certified welder and Field Supervisor for Global Partners in Shielding, GPS Specialty Doors, and Nelco Worldwide before joining Titan Specialty Doors to run both the field services division and our in-house production team.

He has supervised and completed the installation of projects all over the world and is an expert at installing complex door systems and radiation shielding systems. Some of the most notable specialty door projects that Roland has worked on include radiation-shielded doors for the National Ignition Facility, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, large scale concrete elephant doors for Dubai Studio City, Steiner Studios, Three Ring Studios (among others), Corrosion Control Air Plenum doors for F-22 hangars at Hickam Airforce Base, Blast doors for Mountain Home Airforce Base, Picatinny Arsenal, and countless other projects. There is nothing that he cannot fabricate or install.
